2005 EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
A CHINTIMINI FESTIVAL CONCERT IN ALSEA
Alsea Branch, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library
Sunday, 12 June 2005, 3pm
Alsea Flyer (pdf format)
Chintimini Chamber Music celebrated its fifth anniversary by expanding its summer festival to include an educational outreach concert in the beautiful Alsea River valley of the Oregon coast mountain range. An enthusiastic audience of thirty Alsea children, parents and grandparents gathered on a sunny Sunday afternoon, 12 June 2005, in the new community hall of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library branch in Alsea for a concert of chamber music by Mozart and the 20th century composer Kodaly.
The Alsea concert was part of Chintimini Chamber Music¹s educational outreach program, which promotes music education and chamber music performance throughout Benton County and the Willamette Valley. Major funding was provided by a grant from the Benton County Cultural Coalition. The concert was hosted by our partners -- the Alsea Community Effort and the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library. Donations collected by the Alsea Community Effort at the door were distributed to the Community Effort After School arts program, to be used for music events, and to the Alsea School music program.
