Ann Grabe

Ann GrabeANN GRABE is principal cello with the Corvallis-OSU Symphony and the Oregon Mozart Players; she also plays with the Eugene Symphony. She holds an M.M. from Ithaca College, where she studied with Cary Hockett and Einar Holm. Her M.ME. and Artist's Diploma are from the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart, where she studied with Werner Taube. and a B.S. from Oregon State University, where she studied with Donna Moore Eiseman. She has studied chamber music with the Melos String Quartet.

After completing her Stuttgart degree, Grabe taught both cello and Suzuki Teacher Training at L'Institüt Suzuki de Lyon, with teachers from Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and France in her long-term courses.

Grabe has performed with the Oregon Coast Music Festival, Cascade Music Festival, and Oregon Festival of American Music. Past festival performances include those in Santa Sofia, Italy; Guelph, Ontario, Canada; Pomona, California; Aspen, Colorado; and La Côte de St. André, France. Grabe has an active cello studio in Corvallis, teaches cello at OSU, and has conducted the Corvallis Preparatory Orchestra. She is an approved Suzuki Method teacher-trainer in both Europe and the United States.
