Drew Giambrone

Bassist Drew Giambrone has played with the Austin Symphony, North State Symphony, Eugene Symphony, and Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra, and in chamber orchestras, small ensembles, opera and ballet orchestras, and theatre. He has performed the solo bass parts from Mahler’s First Symphony, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kije Suite and Verdi’s Rigoletto, as well as standard chamber repertoire including Stravinsky’s Histoire du Soldat. He has also performed with off-the-wall ensembles such as String Revenge, McCulture, Blondes at Large, The Patsy Cline Quintet, and Blonde Mambo.

Drew studied at the University of Texas with Mark Bernat and at Northwestern with the Willamette Valley's own Jeff Bradetich. He plays a 5-string, 7/8th size bass made in the 1850s and recently restored.
