Matthew Faust

Matt Faust was born and raised in Minneapolis. He pursued his musical interests at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, the University of Cincinnati, and Brooklyn College CUNY, where he had master classes with Itzhak Perlman.

His primary teachers were Eugene Vuicich, Rex Conner, Jens Ellerman, and Masao Kawasaki. Matt is currently a second violinist in the Oregon Symphony in which his wife Erin Furbee also plays.

Matt loves the Pacific Northwest in every way. When not fiddling he enjoys drawing, reading, hiking, and, currently, pursuing the art and craft of bowmaking.
